About the SpeakerDr. Peter Ward, Professor of Astrobiology, University of Washington Dr. Ward will present on a fascinating and challenging topic which is the subject of his new book: Life as We Do Not Know It: The NASA Search for (and Synthesis of) Alien Life.
Dr. Peter Ward is a principal NASA-funded investigator to research the subject
of alien life. In his latest book, Dr. Ward is the first to take a
hard look at what life really is, what alien life might be like, and
how the evolution of the earth biology informs us about the possibilities of
life elsewhere in the galaxy. He also posits some very radical theories
about the extraterrestrial origins of life on earth.
Dr. Ward is a professor of biology, professor of earth and space sciences, and
adjunct professor of astronomy at the University of Washington. He has
publish 12 books, coauthored 2 books, and has appeared in numerous TV
documentaries for PBS, the Discovery Channel, and The Learning Channel.

such as: what is life, anyway? what would non-DNA life forms look
like? and, what are the odds that other life doesn't exist in the
universe? Bring your significant others and friends! This will be a fun meeting!
