Keeping the Lights On: Smart Solutions for Washington's Energy Needs

Speaker

Robert Pregulman, Executive Director at Washington State Public Interest Research Group

Program

Washington State Public Interest Research Group

Washington is at an energy crossroads. We're outgrowing our hydroelectric system, and it's clear from the energy shortage of 2001 that we cannot depend only on fossil fuels like coal and natural gas to meet our growing energy needs. In order to diversify our state’s energy supply, and boost economic growth in rural areas, Mr. Pregelman will discuss development of an energy portfolio, to supply our growing needs that may incorporate sustainable and affordable clean energy sources, like wind, and will increase investments in energy efficiency.
