Program

Clint will discuss modeling which is underway to enable the Washington Department of Ecology to understand the impact on regional air quality (ozone, visibility, regional haze) of emissions from both new and existing sources. He will also discuss the Airpact project which will result in predictions of air quality being available to the public in real time.

About the Speaker

Clint Bowman is an atmospheric physicist working for the State of Washington, Department of Ecology. He received a BS in Physics from Purdue University in 1964, served in the US Air Force from 1964 until 1971 as a physicist for the Space and Missile Systems Organization, attended graduate school at the University of Utah Meteorology Department from 1971 until 1976, worked for the H. E. Cramer Company from 1975 through 1987 developing air quality models and mesoscale meteorological models before joining the Department of Ecology in 1988. For the past 13 years Mr. Bowman has been involved with projects which have employed increasingly complete models of the atmosphere to make estimates of air pollutant concentrations.
